Here is another of my early drawings. I was in my late teens when I created it. This is the story of a dying planet, from which the inhabitants escape through a porthole into another reality.
.
It has always been a favorite of my long-ago doodlings. There's something, some feeling I caught here, which I can't put into words. Perhaps you can.

So wonderful that I could click on this and see it larger! It really is wonderful. I can feel and see the beauty of this planet, and also the visionary feel of what the world was leaning into, disaster to the spirit and manifestation of life.
If only.
That's what I get.
I get a smell of the possibility of such a porthole and then a sense of loss for the impossibility.
Sometimes growing up and becoming literal is no fun at all.
I think you captured so many feelings here it would be really hard to sort them out. Chaos, sadness, reality, dreams, hope, paradise lost, paradise found ... Wow.
This has to be one of my favourites as it reminds me so much of C.S.Lewis. The very first and last of his Narnia books are represented here and I grew up believing in Narnia :)

Wonderful drawing!! So many possibilities. Leaving behind old patterns, old life, an unforgiving world; a "dying planet"… to escape to a future of Hope, Love, Light and Possibilities!! The porthole is like stepping through a Rainbow into an OZ filled with imagination, color and joy. Those teen years… filled with such roller coaster emotions… Your story and drawing brought me back to memories of the uncertainties of being a teen to coming around through the porthole out into a world of such wonder and grace and unlimited possibilities!… Love and Light, Nina P.
