She Knows -Paint Party Friday

I absolutely love how this one came out.  This drawing captures my feisty friend Heather to a tee!   I referenced an old Art Nouveau card in my collection for the designs behind her.

Below is my reference photo of my lovely friend Heather.  She's so sweet and kind--but as you can see, she can be quite saucy!

Summer is finally arriving here--it is to be 100 Sunday and Monday!  I surely do hope to stay cool.  Time to get the air conditioner running.

Happy Paint Party Friday.  Stay safe out there.

Ocean Strider -Paint Party Friday

I am working on putting together another coloring book--this one with horses, unicorns and even donkeys.  This graphite drawing is of my dear Friend Cheryl.  What an amazing young woman she is!  This is just the first rough rendition...

Above is the picture I loved so much--it's just perfect, isn't it?

I hope you are all okay.  Have a lovely weekend and Happy Paint Party Friday.

EnGarde! -Paint Party Friday

I loved this picture I took of Rena a couple of summers ago.  There's something about her stance, the twinkle in her eye...I think I've caught it here!

What a talented young lady and lovely, both inside and out. She says she's doing well even in the midst of this pandemic.  I'm so thankful she and her husband are doing alright.

Happy Paint Party Friday, dear Friends

Blue Jay Moon Flower -Paint Party Friday

The blue jays are out in force lately.  They are squawking and screaming in the trees.  I can't tell if they are happy or sad--but that's how blue jays are.  We call them scrub jays here in Oregon.  They amuse me sometimes--especially when they tease the area cats.  Muahahahaaa....

I hope you are doing alright.  This stay in place order is wearing thin.  Stay safe out there and Happy Paint Party Friday!

Mushroom Home -Paint Party Friday

Can you believe it is Mayday?  I can't believe how quickly the time has gone by since the shut down.  People are really hurting out there.  My children won't be coming by for Mother's Day as they always do.  I miss them so much.

Setting that aside, I love how this drawing turned out.  This is a little Mushroom homestead.  In the background, you can see the shooting star flowers which once grew in the forests next to my home.  I've always thought Fairy houses might be made in mushrooms--and fairy castles were, of course, located in wonderful mossy stumps.  I've seen a few of them.

I hope you are all doing okay.  Happy Paint Party Friday.

Happy Birthday, Honey

Today is another difficult one.   I miss my Beloved so very much.  It has been almost six years since he flew away to heaven.   Happy Birthday, Honey.

Lily Walker -Paint Party Friday

I love making strange borders for my drawings.  This one will be fun once I get it into pen and ink!  These flowers, by the way, are babies breath which grow in Eastern Oregon.  I love them.  Even when they dry out they stay elegant.

Happy Paint Party Friday, Thank you SO much for coming by. Have you procured a mask yet?  So many people I know are making them--I might give that a try.

Windy Moon Flower -Paint Party Friday

I love the wind.  There's something mysterious and wonderful about it.  Sometimes it tiptoes down the alley, or wiffles great waves across the golden fields.  It can be as gentle as a kiss, or as rowdy as a tornado.  Here you can see its magic.

Happy Paint Party Friday, sweet Friends.  I hope you are doing alright during this pandemic.  Mumsie is back home now and I am feeling pretty lonesome.

Bah Humbug! -Paint Party Friday

I could not help but laugh at the expression on this little girl's face.  She obviously is NOT happy and finds solace in her best bud Dude the Opossum.

I can't find the original photo I referenced. It was of three little girls singing.  They wore costumes, and this one little girl was NOT wanting to do whatever it was she was being asked to do.  The only title I could give to this drawing is "Bah Humbug!"  Haha

I hope you have a lovely weekend, dear Friends.  Thank you for dropping by--it is always a joy to read your comments.  Blessings and hope to you!

My Friend the Fox -Paint Party Friday

When I was a little girl there was a beautiful meadow across the road from us.  In the early morning, the foxes would come out.  You could see them leaping above the grass to pounce upon the field mice.  Such a charming thing to see!

Things are looking worse on the world front.  Please stay safe, dear Friends and Happy Paint Party Friday.

Watch Out for the Baby Shrooms -Paint Party Friday

This drawing was done in stages. First came the lovely maiden, then a week or so later, the frame...  I noticed a couple days later, that she was looking at something on the ground.

I realized she was being so careful, it had to be baby mushrooms.  Heehe...

Here is my original reference photo. This is a lovely young woman by the name of Paige.

I hope you have a fun weekend despite the virus scare going on.  Stay safe out there and Happy Paint Party Friday.

I Love Grapes -Paint Party Friday

This is my niece.  As you can see she is such a beautiful little person--I'm in awe watching her grow up.  I remember when she was born, and how she smiled at me then.  (yes, she smiled!)  She's an amazing girl and brings a lot of joy to everyone she knows.

I hope you have a lovely weekend, sweet Friends.   Blessings and hope to you!

Moon Unicorn -Paint Party Friday

I don't know what it is, but I think unicorns and the moon make a magical combination.  On a full moon it seems anything is possible!  I've always wanted to meet a unicorn--maybe one day I will!

I hope you have a lovely weekend, dear Friends.  Thank you for coming to visit.  Blessings and hope to you!

Birds and Berries -Paint Party Friday

I have a great love for bluebirds.  When I was a child, my siblings and I were running up from the canyon, when we found a strange woven bag lying on the trail.  I picked it up and three little bluebirds flew out.  It was their nest and somehow had come loose and fallen.

I was so charmed.  I've never lost my love for these little birds.

I hope you have a lovely weekend, dear Friends.  Happy Paint Party Friday!

Cat on a Post -Paint Party Friday

Here is a drawing I recently created of my sweet SnowBunny.  Over 25 years ago the kids and I found her within the walls of what we called "the Carriage House."  She was tiny, her eyes barely open.  But she was ours from that moment.  She was a wonderful cat who shared mothering the children with me.  They were hers and I was hers, too.   After a rich and full life, she passed away--I will always miss her and I fully expect to see her when I head off to heaven myself.

I hope you have a lovely weekend, dear Friends.  Thank you for dropping by--it is always a joy to read your comments.  Blessings and hope to you!

Dragon Breath -Paint Party Friday

Years ago I discovered a picture of a cat with fire coming out if its mouth--I saw a dragon, hence the title "Dragon Breath."

I've been incredibly busy and continue to be so--I hope you don't mind my sharing this goofy drawing from long ago.

When you peruse this piece, I hope you laugh as much as I did, as I drew it!  Thank you for dropping by, your comments are such an encouragement.  Have a happy weekend, dear Friends, and Happy Paint Party Friday!

Flight -Paint Party Friday

Somehow there is hope and beauty in this drawing.  I love how this turned out.  One can almost feel the wind whispering through her hair as she watches the flight of the geese.

Hope.  It is the best of things--What blows me away is that God is called the God of Hope.  I don't know what I would do without hope in my life.

Blessings and peace to each of you dear ones.  Thank you for your wonderful comments.  You make my day every time.

Chelsea Elf -Paint Party Friday

This is a drawing of my sweet Friend Chelsea.  She's had an extremely difficult life, yet despite that, her heart and attitude inspire everyone around her.

Here is my reference photo--you can see how the courage and sweetness shines from her face!  I count it a privilege to be this wonderful young woman 's Friend.

Happy Paint Party Friday, dear Friends.  Thank  you for dropping by--you are such an encouragement to me.  I LOVE PPF!  :D

Papa's Little Darling -Paint Party Friday

This is Papa's very first Great Granddaughter.  Sweet Daka asked me to draw this little one for them.  I am not finished--this is the first full sketch of her--she'll likely be sitting on a mushroom--or in the middle of a fluffy flower by the time I am done.  :D

Here's a glimpse into my sketchbook--above are my preliminary sketches of this darling little one.  That first full sketch is only about 2 inches in height.  :D  As you can see, I didn't get her face, or feet right the first time through...

Above is my reference photo.  What a dear tiny girl.  Children are such beautiful beings!

Thank you for visiting, dear Friends.  Your comments always brighten  my day!  Blessings and hope to you and Happy postcard Friendship Friday!
