Purple Moon -Paint Party Friday

I painted this large acrylic on a large canvas in 2010 to honor the life of a dear little friend. Crickette's extraordinary story can be found at Angel Stories.  Her face is hidden in this painting--can you find her?

We still miss our small mischievous Crickette'.

Above is another peek into my sketchbook.  I found a wonderful photo of a cat yawning--it so hit my funny bone, this sketch popped out of my pencil.  Bwaahahahahaa...Dragon Breath!  I am sure Crickette' would have smiled to see this one.

Have a lovely day, sweet Friends!  Happy Paint Party Friday!

Furry Heart Face - Guest Heart Thursday

I love this drawing of our dear Main Coon Elvis.  I call this one All Ears.  This was the first of several surreal cats I've done--one for each wonderful feline we've known over the years.  Can you see the heart shape here?

Though I've posted this drawing of Elvis before, the bright color and happy feeling of this drawing on this dark, rainy, cloudy morning, is perfect for this week's Guest Heart Thursday.

Here are more Surreal Cats for your enjoyment.

Here is our Blue Crickette'.   She was such a lovely gentle companion.

Kitty Monet, our darling black cat, Snow Bunny, looks out through sweet sly cat eyes.  She loved my children as her own.  We were "co" Moms.

This is Peachy Snooper, who will soon be a colorful kitty.  In the works are Bodacious Bootz and Sweet Twinkle Toez.

For more heart art, photography and altogether fabulous heart stuff from around the world, visit Clytie at Random Hearts for Guest Heart Thursday!

Crickette Kitty

As storm clouds laden with rain scudded across the skies, I caught our little Crickette'  peeking over the tops of the clouds.

Above you see her as I first caught her pouncing upon wisps of the storm.

Here she is again!  I was able to get two shots of our darling kitty before she whiskered her way back to heaven.

And here you see Crickette' as I originally saw her, peeking through the storm.  Of course, I waved.  I'm sure she winked before she flew away.

Purple Moon

I got up this morning feeling sad. I don't know why--some days are just like that. I worked a little, read a little--fed the fish and helped my husband with a project.

The sadness lingered, so I went upstairs to my studio, set up my easel and began to paint. Three hours later I stepped back from the canvas. As you can see, this is not my normal style at all. When I took Purple Moon downstairs to show my husband, I noticed the braided rug in my office is in exactly these colors.

So . . . can you see her?

I made this badge in celebration of our Crickette's life, for all of you who have been so encouraging with your kind thoughts, prayers and words. We are comforted. God bless you!

Blue Crickette'

Our little furry friend is in heaven today. Sunday afternoon our beloved Crickette' went missing. That morning we saw her sitting on the front steps watching us leave. My husband and I both had a strange feeling about her--she seemed sad. I blame myself for not stopping the car to put her into the house where she could be safe. I wish I would have followed my hunch.

With all we must accomplish over the next few days both Alan and I are very sad over the loss of our little friend. It will be a very difficult week for us. I'd appreciate your thoughts and prayers. We've faced so many hard things over the past few years--this latest loss seems to have opened the floodgate for my tears.
