Valentine Doodles -Guest Heart Thursday
This is an odd little watercolor doodle I painted when my little niece was visiting.
We had SO much fun that afternoon. Everyone should have the chance to paint pictures with a five-year old! (grin)
Happy Valentine's Day everyone! Joy, peace and love to each of you.

Furry Heart Face - Guest Heart Thursday
I love this drawing of our dear Main Coon Elvis. I call this one All Ears. This was the first of several surreal cats I've done--one for each wonderful feline we've known over the years. Can you see the heart shape here?
Though I've posted this drawing of Elvis before, the bright color and happy feeling of this drawing on this dark, rainy, cloudy morning, is perfect for this week's Guest Heart Thursday.
Here are more Surreal Cats for your enjoyment.
Here is our Blue Crickette'. She was such a lovely gentle companion.
Kitty Monet, our darling black cat, Snow Bunny, looks out through sweet sly cat eyes. She loved my children as her own. We were "co" Moms.
This is Peachy Snooper, who will soon be a colorful kitty. In the works are Bodacious Bootz and Sweet Twinkle Toez.

Sleepy Hills - Guest Heart Thursday
I love the Columbia Gorge. Watching the mountains along the banks of the Great Columbia River, my imagination runs wild. Here you see these sleeping hills warning all to silence before a well deserved nap.
I have hidden a few hearts in this drawing--can you find them?

I'm All Ears - Guest Heart Thursday
I will be continuing FAT Tuesday next week. I apologize for missing this week's featured artists--I had a medical crisis--but all is well now. Thanks for your patience!
Can you find the two hearts in this drawing? Inspired by great artists from the past, here is a surreal drawing of Elvis the Main Coon cat. He filled our house with his magnificent girth and gigantic personality.
.
We will always and ever miss his sonorous song and funny kitty cat wit. He could say a million things with his eyes and a flip of his long whiskers. Here he is saying, "I love you. Got food?"

Ivy
As I type, Bootz the cat is sprawling upon my desk, watching each keystroke I make with GREAT interest. We shall see how far I get before she attacks my fingers, or the keyboard!
This is another of the drawings I created on our trip to Spokane. I used Prismacolor pencils to add these brilliant colors. My problem was that I used a different brand of ink pens. The colored pencils caused the ink to smear into her delicate peach complection. My solution was to add ivy leaves onto her face to create a more surreal effect.
You won't believe this, but Bootz the cat is playing with the, er, mouse. Tch tch tch--as I type these words, the mouse pointer icon is wildly swinging over the monitor screen!
Have a perfectly wonderful Monday!

Sunspot
I created this piece of surreal artwork on our long drive to Spokane, Washington State. On that eight hour drive, we drove through a dust storm--which I had never experienced before. This lovely little Sunspot is the result of that frightening experience!
I have this original, signed piece up for sale on Ebay if you'd like to visit my place at Bethworx.

Leigh Grin
This is a portrait of my delightful youngest sister Leigh. She actually liked it, and hung the original in her house!Using acrylics, this painting is one of the first surreal pieces I've ever created. The funny thing is, it actually does kind of look like my sister--the impish, fun side of her.
Truly, I have been blessed with two of the most wonderful sisters in the entire world.

Graphite Butterfly
While we were away, I had opportunity to do quite a bit of sketching. This is one of six, 6x6 pieces in graphite, which I will eventually ink and then add color.
I was greatly inspired by our dear Friend Darlene, of Dancing Mangoes, who shows her work from conception to finish.
As I finish each stage of this drawing, I will post it, so you can see my progress!
Have a GREAT week!

Blue Crickette'
Our little furry friend is in heaven today. Sunday afternoon our beloved Crickette' went missing. That morning we saw her sitting on the front steps watching us leave. My husband and I both had a strange feeling about her--she seemed sad. I blame myself for not stopping the car to put her into the house where she could be safe. I wish I would have followed my hunch.
With all we must accomplish over the next few days both Alan and I are very sad over the loss of our little friend. It will be a very difficult week for us. I'd appreciate your thoughts and prayers. We've faced so many hard things over the past few years--this latest loss seems to have opened the floodgate for my tears.
