Hello Bunny -Paint Party Friday

I did a lot of artwork just after the first of the year.  My computer was out for seven days, so I couldn't do my normal activities.  This gave me a great excuse to do something I love--Art!

It is difficult when I can't find time to draw.  Art is like breathing to me--if I don't draw, something begins to suffocate inside.  I have talked about this to other artists, and most feel much the same as I do.  I think creative people tend to feel this way in whatever they are inspired to do--it is something they must do to maintain sanity! Heehee...

I can't find my reference photo, but when I do I will add it to this post.  My sweet friend Heather posed for me--she's such a wonderful young woman.

Have a lovely weekend, sweet Friends.  It is always an exciting thing for me when you drop by and comment.  You inspire me.  Happy Paint Party Friday!

Crown of Vetch -Paint Party Friday

This colored pencil drawing is of my niece.  She is a free spirit like me, with a grand imagination and a love for the Forest and all things faery.  Flora is a wonderful little friend and I love her very much.

Here in the Pacific Northwest, spring is in the air.  The trees are bright with blossoms.  There are flowers springing from the earth and the birds are trilling their spring songs.  It is a beautiful day today.  I am posting this picture, because on the other side of the country--you all have snow!  I'm envious of your snow, as I am sure you must be envious of our spring blossoms.

Happy Paint Party Friday, all you lovely people. Thank you for dropping by.

Sky Dreamer -Paint Party Friday

This dreamer in the sky was made especially for a young friend of mine named Emily. She has a bit of the dreamer in her eyes.

Above you see the sky dreamer as I first caught her floating along the cloud's edges.

Thank you so much for dropping by!  Have a lovely weekend, sweet Friends!  Happy Paint Party Friday!

Girl of the Waterfall -Guest Heart Thursday

Here is another doodle from a few nights ago.  I couldn't sleep, so found myself sketching--not quite knowing what would show up on the page.  This lovely young woman looks a lot like our darling Mumsie when she was young.  Mom still retains that whimsical personality.  Sometimes it is like we are sisters instead of Mom and daughter.  I enjoy being with her so much.

Of course, there are hearts hidden through this drawing.  Have a lovely day everyone!

Fragile - ACEO

This is another of the Artist Cards I've made.  Some of you have asked if I will have these up for sale.  The answer is YES!  In a couple of weeks I hope to have a little online "shop"-- which will be a dream come true for me.

This ACEO is one of my favorites.  The girl's face is so lovely and the colors came out very well--she seems truly Fragile.   I love the small size of these cards 2.5 x 3.4 inches--the detail I can put into them is just amazing for their tiny size.

I like them so much, it's hard to think about selling them!  Though the scanner doesn't do the real thing justice (the colors are much richer and smooth in real life), I still thank heaven for scanners!

Thank you everyone for all your encouragement.  It means quite a lot to me.  You can see this and other ACEOs at My Etsy Shop at Beth's Artworx.

Jungle Girl

This pen and ink was a whimsical experiment combining human and feline qualities. Melissa, the lovely young model is one of my favorite individuals to draw.

Wistful

Last week, I met this little one who's sad eyes reflected her rescue from terrible circumstances. She is a brave little soul who believes in angels and fairies. So I drew her as one.

Blue Eyes

This is one of a series of drawings where I experimented with using warm colors such as gold, red, brown and yellow for color and shading.

The only exception are her blue, blue eyes.

Hidden Friends

Here is another early graphite drawing. I was around 19 years old when I drew this interesting picture. I've always loved to hide things in my drawings. Can you find what I hid in this picture?

Girl in Cloud Coat

How astonishing to find this lovely girl, with her plush foofoo cloud coat and spectacular hat floating across the skies. I wonder why her hand is outstretched? Any ideas out there???
.
The smaller photo is the original cloud, which I photographed in the skies over the back fence as I stood there in the alley. (grin) Sometimes the most unusual and loveliest of things can be found close to home.
