Frazzled -Paint Party Friday

This is a little different style than usual.  That is because it is my first try with water soluble oil paints.  Who would have thought such a thing existed?!  I need training to know how to paint.  I've never had classes--and one of these days I will.  I want to paint like the masters.  However, until I learn how--this will have to do.

This flower makes me smile.  I don't know what it is--but there's something humorous about it.

Have a wonderful weekend, dear ones.  Thank you for dropping by--your comments are a blessing and a joy to me.  Happy paint Party Friday!

Sunflower Angel -Postcard Friendship Friday

I posted this back in 2009.  It has been such a busy couple of weeks, I'm re-posting.

Sunflowers are one of my favorite flowers. They are so cheerful and full of sunshine. If you look closely you will see this lovely lady is a sunflower angel. Her wings are hidden. I've met this angel, and she pours goodness and beauty over everyone she meets. What a blessing she is.

Notice the cup of coffee in her hand...or is it peppermint tea?  I will let you decide.

Have a lovely weekend and happy Paint Party Friday!

Romance, Sunflowers and Roses -Paint Party Friday

This is a commissioned piece I am doing for my dear friends Rena and Luke.  They are such a wonderful young couple.  They have just celebrated their second anniversary--this is Rena's gift to her beloved husband.  I am very honored to have been asked to do this portrait of them.

Above is the photo I used as a reference for this lineart drawing.  When I'm done, it will be in full color, with lots of green, red and yellow.  I'll post it when I finish it sometime next week.

Happy Paint Party Friday and have a great weekend all you wonderful people!

Sunny Sleeper -Guest Heart Thursday

Here's another of my doodles.  I finished it two nights ago.  She could be Sleeping Beauty, or a fairy taking a soft nap upon a sunflower.  And, of course, there are hearts to be found in this graphite sketch.

Sunflower Dancer - Guest Heart Thursday

With the sunshine we are seeing off and on today, it only seemed right to put up this little Sunflower Dancer.  Yes, there are hearts hidden in the drawing.  How many can you find?

Spilled Milk - Illustration Friday

The poor little LeoButterfly has spilled his breakfast of milk from the milkweed plant.  He's heart-broken and is telling his faery friend all about it.  Of course, she will gather another blossom of milk for the tiny fellow, but he's so cute, she's having a hard time not smiling.

Sunflower Friendship

Sunflower friendships are rare and beautiful. They bloom unexpectedly in the field of life, appearing one day out of nowhere. They are fragrant and joyful, rooted deeply into the soil of one's heart. Sunflower friendships are like bright spots of joy on a dark cloudy day. I thank God for the lovely Sunflower Friends He has brought into my life.

Daddy Update: I drove Dad and Mumsie to the Veteran's Hospital. The broken bones in Dad's neck are seated in nicely, but are not healing as quickly as hoped. The surgeon says Dad will wear his neck brace for six months. Dad's bones are soft, and if the bones do not heal, they will have do surgery. The surgeon says the surgery is risky. Please pray Dad defies all expectations and heals faster than anyone could anticipate. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers!
