Got Flowers? -Paint Party Friday

This is a drawing of my lovely middle daughter. She is as beautiful inside, as she is on the outside.   I love my children so dearly I often draw them from memory.  Such was the case here.

I haven't seen them in awhile and I miss them something fierce.  I have such wonderful children...A blessed Mom am I! :D

Happy Paint Party Friday dear ones!  Thank you for dropping by--your visits always bring a smile to my heart.

First Born -Paint Party Friday

I recently found a photo of me and my first born when she was a tiny tyke.  It was so sweet, I did a little sketch of us.  Here it is, dear ones.  I have had a very busy week--and another one ahead of me.

I pray your days are lovely and that you will find unexpected blessings around every corner.

Have a great weekend and Happy Paint Party Friday.

Lady of the Hill -Paint Party Friday

This is a drawing from last year at this same time.  I added color to it last week and I rather like the way it turned out.  This is my sweet middle daughter, who's beauty and kindness lend enchantment to every piece of art I feature her in.

It is very cold where we are--for our area of the world 17 degrees is REALLY cold.  I can't remember feeling this cold in my life!  But the sun is shining and it is a new day.

God bless you everyone and Happy Paint Party Friday!

Of Dragonflies and Elves -Paint Party Friday

This is a drawing I recently found in one of my keepsake files.  It is an early illustration for a children's book.  I believe I was 19.  This girl looks SO much like my own daughters.  I did a double take when I found it!  Amazing, almost prophetic.  And you can definitely see how much I've improved in my artwork over these last 39 years!!!

Anyhow, Happy New Year, sweet Friends.  May God bless you with joy, wisdom, strength and comfort over this coming year.  Happy Paint Party Friday!

Golden Girl -Guest Heart Thursday

Monday's heartbreaking events put a sad blue pall over this week.  I was prompted to share this Golden Girl--a bit of sunshine, breaking through the clouds.

You may recognize one of the faces I love to draw.  This girl is as beautiful and sunny in real life, as she is in this drawing--she is one of my adopted daughters.

Yes, there are hidden hearts in this piece.  May your day be filled with unexpected hope.

Forgiveness - Guest Heart Thursday

As children grow older and yearn to fly, great hurt can take place between parent and child.  Forgiveness between child and parent is incredibly important for growth in later life.  Bitterness can grow when forgiveness is not given, or received.

I remember the day I realized my Mother was an extraordinarily interesting person.  It was an astonishing revelation how much she and I had in common.  She became someone I would seek out -- I loved hanging with her.  What a wonderful time in my life to live close enough to go walking with her every morning--how I cherish those memories.  She was (and still is) really fun!  I am so grateful for the friendship we have.

Whispers

She whispers through my prayers. She does not know it but I pray. She is lost, but will be found. What sacrifice will be made? Amazing to find her profile in the clouds. Beloved girl. Adopted Daughter. Heart broken and so far from home.
