Bluebell Fae -Paint Party Friday

I love bluebells in Spring.  This year they came too early and the frost got to them.  However, they did spring back into life a little later, though a bit less blue than normal.

Here is my little bluebell fae.  She visited us twice this year!

Have a lovely weekend, dear friends.  Happy Paint Party Friday!

Bachelor Button Faery -Paint Party Friday

This is a drawing from my mind.  The model here is my little niece--who shows up in my artwork all the time without my thinking about it.  This is a Bachelor Button Faery.  I love those flowers with their cheerful sky blue color and how they love to dance in the wind.

I have been away from my computer, on the road.  I have missed you all!  Hope you have a great weekend!

Blue Flowers, Gorgeous Sunset

I have been longing for Spring...in our part of the world, the fog has descended and we haven't seen the sun for ten days!  We are used to the rain--but this freezing grey fog has been a little tough to take.

Yesterday was a bright day, as I spent time with my darling niece.  We had a wonderful time painting with watercolors.  This is an ACEO I painted.  I adore this color of blue--the color of forgetmenots.

The painting above is only 2.5x3.5 inches and was painted by my talented niece.  She says it is a sunset.  Pretty amazing work for a five-year old!!!

Bluebell Faery

The bluebells are blooming in bunches beneath the cedar trees.  What a lovely color they are!  I think they look like tiny flowering blueberries--each so exquisitely made.  I heard the faeries playing the bluebells last night in my dreams.  From what I understand, there is a bluebell festival in my garden each Spring.  Sometimes if one listens very closely one can hear the music as the faeries ring the bluebells in the soft moonlight.

I can always tell Spring has come when the bluebells in my garden ring.  I know, I know--I have a GREAT imagination.  LOL

Bluebell Faery

This spring I had the privilege of capturing the fragile beauty of the bluebell faery. She is a shy sort--and quite musical. In early springtime, it is possible to tiptoe into the garden, where if you are quite still, you might hear the rare and lovely song of the bluebells.
