Violet Fae -Paint Party Friday

Another sleepless night resulted in this purple-eyed beauty and her spray of violets.  I love violets--they grow wild in the forests of my childhood.  We would find tiny purple blooms growing through the thick green mosses under the ferns along the banks of the creek.

The yellow ones growing in a bright carpet beneath the firs were called Johnny Jump-Ups, the white variety, in my vivid child's imagination, were magical footsteps of the moon, left behind as she tripped her way from shadow to shadow through the woods.

Have a lovely day and Happy Paint Party Friday!

Your work is beautiful, as is your model. I love the idea of the white violets being moon footsteps! Here there are lots of violet coloured flowers in the fields and meadows just now, so pretty! Hugs, Valerie

I LOVE both of your compositions! The first one has a very unique look with the portrait popping out of the white background, and the second one has a very Art Nouveau feel to it. Blessings!

What a beautiful portrait, the lady with the violet eyes, and what a wonderful image for white violets.
Your pencil drawings, using a model, are exquisite

Your violet lady is gorgeous. I love violets even though they are somewhat invasive around here. I let them grow. Your sketch is gorgeous and I have no name for it. I rarely am able to think up names for my own stuff.

Love your work. White violets I've never seen, but your ideas are beautiful.

Beth, your graphite drawing is amazing. It is reminiscent of the art nouveau style of Alphonse Mucha. Beautifully done! Hugs, Terri

Love your name for the white violets!!!! Great art!!!

Beautiful drawing. I think you should call it Prom Queen. That's what it looks like, but she's such a beautiful girl it must have made your drawing very easy. But then again, if you draw like me, it wouldn't have been that great so it says a lot for talent.
