Watching Over You
I thought it was about time to put up another Cloud painting. I know this is one I've shared before, but there's a reason I'm putting it up again.
I just received a phone call from someone I've never met, who's seen my artwork down at the Starduster Diner located at our little airport. He wants to buy it right off the wall! I feel so astonished.
But perhaps not. I know there are angels watching over the pilots as they fly. If I were a pilot, I'd want this hanging on my wall, too.
My first rendition of this piece did not have the angel. I had sent a small copy to one of our friends, who's little granddaughter saw it sitting on her piano. The tiny girl was excited to point out the angel protecting the airplane. As you can see in the original photo, there IS an angel there. But it took a little child to see it!

She Watches

Daddy Update: Our precious Dad lost his balance and fell, scraping away some of the delicate newly formed skin on the top of his head. Please pray this area continues to heal and that no infection will take hold. Dad is also experiencing some disorientation. He did not recognize Mums a few mornings ago. He was apparently having another flashback to WW2. Please pray that Dad will gain strength and that these flashbacks will stop. Thank you so much.

Pray, or Prey?

If that pilot knew such a hungry eagle was about to grab him, I'm certain he would pray. My husband came up with the title Pray or Prey?--I wanted to add "A Matter of Perspective" but that seemed a bit long. What do you think? (grin)
Below are the eagle (minus his beak) and the airplane as I first saw them.

Mayday! Mayday!

Can you imagine what that pilot might be thinking if this mountain lion were real? My husband thinks he might be shouting something other than "mayday!"
.
I shot this wonderful little photo near our small local airport.

They Carry Our Children

I recently sent a copy of "Mayday! Mayday!" to my talented friend Phil Bogle. Phil has a wonderful gift of writing, and a unique way of seeing the world. He has been an inspiration to Alan and me, many times over the years.
.
When Phil viewed the photo, he wrote, I just get an entirely different thought process when I see the one you entitled "Mayday! Mayday!" I think of the MAF pilots...flying the missionaries into the jungle. Taking the dear workers of God into the jaws of death and attacks by Satan. The little David, against the roaring lion, delivering hope and the Gospel. My son goes into the jungle frequently and I worry often. The MAF was the only way my kids and grand kids got to their home in Mulia, New Guinea. Now they are in a different place called Cannibal Valley (not one bit more comforting). But knowing that MAF pilots do their job, so Ben and others can do their jobs, is the image I get from your piece.
Phil's description of these brave pilots, and the inspiring poem he wrote, deeply touched my heart. Please be praying for the courageous men and women who risk their lives to bring hope to those who have never heard.
