Her Prayers -Paint Party Friday

I have been away for quite some time.  I have missed all you wonderful people.  Though it has been nearly two and a half years, this past month has been one of the most difficult since I lost the love of my life.  This is a drawing I did just after he passed away--I completed the lineart version last week.

I hope you enjoy the details.  The sea is a picture of grief--how it is always there--the light house signifies the hope of landing on solid ground and the Light which guides me.  The boat represents courage and strength.  I will battle the rising waves--I will hang on.  The high seas engulfing that tiny craft will soon smooth themselves into peace.

Above you see my lovely model Rena.  I adore this photo--there's a sunbeam coming down upon her.  Something the camera did all on its own.

I hope you have a lovely weekend, dear Friends.  It is good to be back.  Happy Paint Party Friday!

Beth, your drawings are always so beautiful and so meaningful. After 3 1/2 years, there are still days when grief overwhelms me for a short while. Maybe that will be forever the way things are. I don't know. Sending much love and many hugs. Faye

Your art is so much more that than a drawing. It has feelings and emotions that reach out and touch the one who views it. It has beauty and peace, hope and significance. It speaks volumes without words. It is beautiful. It is touching. It is from deep within your heart...your soul.
I am so sorry for your loss, Beth. My prayers are with you~

Dear Beth, it's really lovely to meet you and I'm so sad for you losing the love of your life. I carefully read all your words... keep hanging on to your little boat and that the calm seas are not too far away.
Your artwork is so beautiful and symbolic. It's a very nice thought to know that you are going to be part of PPF once more.
With warm good wishes, Sue

Your art is beautiful and so intricately detailed!

I am so sorry for your loss, Beth. Losing a loved one is incredibly painful and the road ahead can seem impossible but, somehow, we get through it even if we are just going through the daily motions for a while. I also wish you better days ahead.

A beautiful drawing! So sorry for your loss Beth. As others said, all we can do is take it one day at a time, sometimes just hour by hour. Know that you are loved.
