Walking the campus of Corban College in Salem, Ore., I happened upon this lovely maiden gazing over the steep pathway below. I am sure she wishes she could join the crowds of students passing by--instead, she is fated to watch from her perch on the hill. If you enlarge the picture, you can see a tiny smile upon her face. Perhaps her wistful joy comes from the laughter of the young people she observes.
I am certain she is a small flowering cherry tree. As spring approaches and new leaves unfurl, I shall be back to record her spring colors. I would love to see her with a crown of cherry blossoms.
Be sure to click on the pic for the larger version--I think that is how she is best discovered.

It took a minute but I see her! i think she likes being right where she is ... enjoying the lives of the students she shares her world with ...
Beth, Your Cherry Tree Maiden is so enchanting - I looked at it for the longest time. Thank you for stopping by my blog; I appreciate your kind comments and look forward to following your artistic journeys!
... that is a real tree with no photoshopping?!
gorgeous
sure beats any of the virgin-mary-in-a-trees that are always cropping up - and which I can never seem to see or find!
