Fairy Princess -Paint Party Friday

I had the flu for over two weeks.  During that time all I could do was lay on the sofa and draw, or watch television.  Long ago, when I was near death in the hospital, I learned that sketching and drawing somehow took way the pain.

Art has always been my passion--it is something I MUST do.  It is like breathing for me.  :D

This lovely fairy princess is one of the sketches I drew while I was sick.  I had to laugh at the hummingbird.  He's much bigger than he's supposed to be, but he reminds me of Mr. Soots, a black-throated hummingbird who's been coming to my back yard for two years now.

Blessings and joy to each of you who took time to drop by today.  Thank you, and Happy Paint Party Friday.

That darn flu this year! Maybe your hummingbird is larger because him looms large in your life right now? Beautiful princess. I am not productive when I don't feel well.

The flu is just so bad this year. Hope you are feeling much better. I think this is my favorite drawing of yours ever because I have this thing for the hummingbirds. Just beautiful.

Hi there,
About your hummingbird - to the fairy he might be that large. Maybe?
Lovely sketch. Art is something we can always appreciate - doing it and looking at it, reading about, learning more.
Blessings
Thanks for dropping by my blog.

Beautiful, Beth. Maybe he is the normal size and she is just a tiny beautiful fairy. I am sorry you have been sick. It sounds as if you are back on the road to good health, a real reason to be thankful in these days of flu tragedies. Thank you for your kind comments. I do think of you often and offer a prayer.

Hello Beth! I've been a bit slow getting around to everyone but, oh my goodness, your gorgeous fairy was a lovely sight to see.
Really sorry you've not been well. Yes, absolutely, drawing or painting most definitely does help distract from pain... it's another form of meditation isn't it, only stronger.
I hope your week ahead sees you a lot healthier. Thank you for sharing your delightful art :D) Sue xx
