Shelter in the Storm

I love the red mushrooms in this drawing--though someone once told me most red mushrooms are poisonous! However, if they are I am convinced the faery folk are immune. Faery folk love to use mushrooms as giant umbrellas in stormy weather.

This small sparkle-eyed faery is one of those who frequent the forest near here. She sometimes comes to my garden to visit and tells stories you would not believe if you heard them. (grin) I know, I know, I have a GREAT imagination.

To draw this picture, I started out with a light pencil outline. I carefully inked in the lines I liked, erasing the remaining pencilings. Then I added color using my beloved Prismacolor pencils--which are wonderful because they are made with beezwax.

I love mushrooms. Love to walk and find them. Love to eat them. However, I am not immune like the fairies. I stick to the white ones.

Love your artwork.

Immune or not, they are woodsy and wise ... remember 'it's not nice to fool mother nature!'

Beautiful drawing, sissie.

With all our rain, I'm beginning to feel as though I'm living all huddled up under a mushroom. Thanks for cheering me up!

Nothing exactly that I can put my finger on about this picture but I love it. Just strikes my fancy, I guess.

It looks to me like you are either moonlighting as a faery or you have a small twin sister you haven't told me about...could this be Sissy Eee? :o}
P.S. love the red mushroom very cool.

I've missed so much since I've been away. I'm now playing catch up. This lovely little lady looks like she's reminiscing a sweet story, or getting ready to meet her handsome fairy friend for an evening talk under the toadstool. Lovely post and drawing.
If you look at the photo on my post today you might just catch a woodland fairy sitting in the backdrop watching the fog lift and the sun rise. (I'd missed her until my friend pointed her out to me today)
Blessings to you and your family. I hope you enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving. I know I sure did. Any time around family is precious. Love and Light, Nina P
