Fat Cat

Here is another whimsical portrait of our lovable old Main Coon Elvis. I miss him so much. That huge good natured cat would lounge in the living room--sleeping on his back as you see here. I couldn't resist making him into an angel. And if animals join us in heaven--I am sure Elvis is waiting for us there.
.
The original drawing is 12 x 14, framed in a velveteen mat I contrived from some plush curtain material I had laying around. The rose patterning was inspired by the pillow on a wicker love seat in my office.
.
I used my beloved Prismacolor pencils to add vivid color to the intricate lines of the original lineart piece.

What a dear picture, Elvis looks like he's waiting for a tummy rub. I love ginger kitties.
This is such a lovely tribute to your precious cat and I'm sure he waits at the Rainbow Bridge.

oh Beth, I love him! I'm sure he loves being an angel, and hanging around with all of the other animals who have passed on to their special place... My sister writes that "Jett", the kitty love of her life, has discovered that sitting on top of the furnace vents makes him very comfortable, and she can't hardly make him move! :)

I just had to enlarge it to get a better look at this beautiful piece! The colors are amazing Beth. I'm sure Elvis is up there with my beloved cat Booter. I still miss her after almost 12 years.

I laugh! I didn't see him laying. I saw him coming for me!

Thank you for the New Year wishes! I'm very much behind in trying to keep up with everything and have really missed seeing your gorgeous art. I've been drinking it in! The last two cloud arts are superb -- the Fledging is beyond adorable! I hope your New Year has gotten off to a fabulous start and brings lots of healing especially to your dad.

That would make a great silk scarf.

Good morning! Have a great week too and a happy new year! I'm very fond of most of the blogs I encounter that have to do with art in all kinds of forms. Yours is one of them and it's cute too! As far as Greek are concerned, it's true that our language is too damn difficult to all non - Greeks. Actually, it's a little bit insane! But being an artist and a student Civil Engineer myself, I hope that from time to time you'll drop by and see at least the pictures of my paintings and/or the music I write that I'll post. Thank you again for commenting on my blog!

Yes I think Elvis is hanging out in kitty heaven with the rest of our beloved felines who have graced our lives over the years, but are no longer with us.

Beautiful colors.

What a sweet little angel. I do believe we will meet with our pets again. After all God Loves All Creatures. The details you have given Elvis shows the Love you have in your heart for him. What a wonderful tribute for a dear departed friend. Blessings. Love and Light, Nina P
